Council Releases Draft Community Plan for Consultation

Mayor John Brent said Council has worked hard to get a range of residents' views on what they love about the region.

"We have received thousands of ideas and have incorporated as many as possible into this draft plan," Cr Brent said.

"I'm sure after reading the draft plan you'll agree that it fairly represents a vision for a future we can all share."

Residents can also read the draft plan's accompanying Consultation Summary Report that outlines what the community said.

Once finalised in late 2011, the Scenic Rim Community Plan will guide action by Council, other levels of government and the broader community on issues including the environment, economic development, wellbeing and infrastructure.

"Now is the time for people to have their say on what our future community should be like," Cr Brent said.
"There are many ways for people to comment on the Draft Scenic Rim Community Plan, so get a copy of the draft plan, read what others have said and then tell us what you think."

Residents can have their say on-line, by completing a feedback form available from Council or by visiting one of the Community Plan Displays to be held at locations across the region over the next few months.
